So, I followed The Pioneer Woman's recipe to a tee, and it turned out absolutely perfect! The cake itself is fluffy and moist, and the icing is simply heavenly.
One thing I did differently than The Pioneer Woman was I added a bit more cocoa powder to the cake batter. I wanted a slightly richer chocolate flavor, and I think it really paid off.
And let's talk about that icing! The Pioneer Woman's recipe calls for a cream cheese frosting, which is already one of my favorites. But she also adds in a bit of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, which just takes it to a whole new level. I kid you not, I could eat that icing by the spoonful!
