Have you seen the latest Barbie dolls? These things are seriously giving me a good laugh! I mean, take a look at this one with the pioneer/prairie dress and bonnet. Who comes up with this stuff? I guess we all need a little bit of a flashback to life in the 1800s...

Now I'm all for fashion, but this dress and bonnet combo is just too much! I can imagine little girls everywhere trying to wrangle some cattle while wearing this get-up. But hey, who am I to judge? If they want to channel their inner Laura Ingalls Wilder, more power to them!
The Ree Drummond Barbie: From the Ranch to Your Playroom
And let's not forget about the Ree Drummond Barbie. That's right, folks - the Pioneer Woman herself now has her very own Barbie doll. Complete with a denim shirt, jeans, cowgirl boots, and of course, a frying pan. Because what else would Ree be carrying around?
Now I have to admit, this one is kinda cute. I can see little girls everywhere pretending to cook up some hearty meals just like Ree. But the frying pan? That's taking it a little too far. I mean, who wants their Barbie dolls wielding a hot frying pan around the house?
But hey, clearly these dolls are selling like hotcakes (or should I say, like Ree's pancakes?). And who knows, maybe one day we'll see a whole line of "Pioneer Barbie" dolls, complete with prairie dresses, cowboy hats, and ten-gallon pails. It's enough to make you holler, "Yeehaw!"
But in all seriousness, it's nice to see Barbie dolls evolving and becoming more diverse. And who knows, maybe one day we'll see dolls that represent even more diverse body types and backgrounds. Until then, we'll just have to settle for the Pioneer and Ree Drummond editions.
