Scone Recipe Pioneer Woman
Mmm mmm mmm, y'all gon' love these mixed berry scones I found on Pinterest. I'm tellin' ya, they are the perfect way to start your day off right.
Lemme tell ya how to make these bad boys:
First things first, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
Next, you're gonna mix together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Once that's all combined, go ahead and cut in 1/2 cup of butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
Now it's time to add in the berries. You can use whichever kind of berries you like, but I recommend using both blueberries and raspberries for a nice mix of sweet and tart. Toss in 3/4 cup of berries and stir everything together.
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of heavy cream and 1 large egg. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture and stir everything together until it's just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times until it comes together. Now flatten the dough out into a circle that's about 8 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Cut the circle into 8 triangles.
Place the triangles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush the tops with a little more heavy cream, and sprinkle some sugar on top. Pop those babies in the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until they're golden brown and delicious.
Now, onto this Pioneer Scone recipe:
This recipe is a little bit different because it uses buttermilk instead of heavy cream. But don't worry, it's still super tasty.
First up, preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
In a large bowl, mix together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cut in 1/2 cup of butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of buttermilk and 1 large egg. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture and stir everything together until it's just combined.

Place the triangles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush the tops with a little more buttermilk, and sprinkle some sugar on top. Pop those babies in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until they're golden brown and delicious.
Now, don't skimp on the butter and jam when you serve these bad boys up. Trust me, it's worth it.
Alright y'all, there you have it. Two delicious scone recipes that are sure to please. Enjoy!
